For those with a Community Services Card, there is Enable Funding Programme From October 2007, families with Community Services or High Use Health cards now qualify for subsidised optometrists visits and a subsidy toward the cost of glasses for their children up until their 16th birthday. The age limit was previously eight years old, so this is fantastic news for families who have older children with eye problems. The subsidy amount is $281.25 (including GST).
