Bladez Barbers NZ Ltd officially opened in 2012. The story of Bladez Barbers NZ predates its inception and started with the dream of a young man wishing to own and operate his own barbershop. Like majority of barbers these days, Fatu Toleafoa started his barbering career cutting family and friends from a garage. After cutting at a various barbershops, Fatu came into contact with Joe Tongi and served a number of years at West Coast barbers. Fatu went on to start Suede 101 which eventually dissolved. With a spiritual faith and the support of his young family, Fatu went on to fulfil a lifelong dream and opened Bladez Barbers. After fulfilling his lifelong dream, Fatu pursued greater opportunities abroad and is looking to open another barbershop in Brisbane, Australia. A separate entity Bladez Barbers NZ Ltd was formed after Fatu's departure, but his legacy and dream continues to provide inspiration for the current barbers and management.
