trained at Auckland University of Technology and qualified in December 2006. During her training she was placed in various departments at National Womens Hospital in Auckland as well as working in the community with a local midlwife, which gave her an extensive range of experiences Following her registration as a Registered midwife, Nic continued to work as a Core Midwife in the National Womens' Labour and Birthing Suite, where she gained a wealth of experience in all midwifery skills specialising in high risk and complicated pregnancy and childbirth. In early 2008 Nic moved to Tauranga and following the birth of her son and consequent maternity leave, she set up "Baby Catchers" and developed a purpose built clinic in Oropi Downs," Oropi Midwifery Rooms", where she practices from today. Julie Dovaston was married and started her midwifery training but fell pregnant during training. Her son was born in 2007. Julie went on to complete her training and her first year of practice as a Lead Maternity Carer was with experienced midwives in Papamoa. Julie went on to have her second child, a daughter, in 2010. Julie has now returned from maternity leave and holds her clinics in Papamoa. She is enthusiastic and loves midwifery. “I love to see women and partners become parents, making a family.
