How can you determine if a Code of Compliance Certificate is done well? From what year can you rely on a CCC? These are million dollar questions that you need to answer when you're buying an apartment in the Auckland CBD. All of us know that it's necessary to do the correct due diligence or you won't get the most suitable apartment for you. Usually, buyers will check the year an apartment building got its CCC. Oftentimes, buyers will be more wary to buy an apartment that has a CCC issued during the 80's and 90's. Why? This is when the Council made its first mistake by issuing CCC to poorly constructed buildings. It resulted in a legal battle that they eventually lost, and they paid millions for that mistake. The Council is now more meticulous when inspecting apartment buildings. This means that they won't issue a Code of Compliance to poorly built apartment buildings.
