04/09/2017 Russian translator Natalia Galvin (Ostrovskaya) was born and raised in Belarus. She learnt Russian and English, then studied English at International House in Minsk. In 1999 she emigrated to New Zealand as a consequence of the catastrophe at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.
Natalia holds a degree in Economics, a Master's Degree of
Professional Studies in Translation with First-Class Honours and a
Post-Graduate Diploma in Translation Studies. Natalia is a certified
Specialist Teacher of English as a Second Language (TESOL), a member of
The New Zealand Society of Translators and Interpreters and is an
authorised translator for the New Zealand Transport Agency.
Our goal is to promote cross-cultural understanding
through written language. This is why we named our website 'NashMir'
which means in Russian both 'Our World' and 'Our Peace'. We sincerely
believe that through mutual enrichment and understanding between
cultures, religions and civilisations, we create one peaceful world."
