By Hoki Quilts opened 4 years ago and was a long held dream by Miche’le. An avid and passionate traditional patchwork and quilt maker, Miche’le took advantage of a move to the local area to give up normal classroom teaching and open a 100% Patchwork and Quilt Shop

By Hoki Quilts is not only a quilt shop it is also a classroom and a place where like- minded stitchers gather regularly for the fellowship that quilting brings. Being just 6km north of Hokitika the shop is situated within the family home complex and offers plenty of off street secure parking.

The shop is small in size and as a result Miche’le decided to focus on fabrics that were ‘tone on tone’ in every colour imaginable and of a good quality. Being owner/ operated Miche’le is able to keep prices down and hours open up. Tuesday is the only day the shop is closed but as Miche’le says, if you’re passing and think you want to call in on a Tuesday give her a try. If she’s home she will open up for you.
